Travel Vaccinations

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world. You can find more advice on the NHS website

Not all travel services are available on the NHS. If you are planning on travelling overseas and would like a full travel consultation, we recommend that you book an appointment with a private travel clinic who will undertake a thorough assessment and advise on all aspects of health related to travel.

However, there are a small number of vaccinations recommended for travel to some parts of the world which can be administered for free on the NHS. These are polio (administered as the combined vaccination covering diphtheria, tetanus and polio); hepatitis A, typhoid and cholera. The practice is able to offer these vaccinations to registered patients only.

If you would like to request NHS travel vaccinations, please complete our secure online form and submit this to the practice at least 6 weeks prior to travelling.

Please note, if you do not give at least 6 weeks notice, we will be unable to accommodate your request. Once the form has been submitted, this will be reviewed by the practice nurse and you will be contacted to book an appointment, if vaccinations are required. If you do not need any vaccinations, we will also contact you to let you know.
